Inspired by the extraordinary artistry and dedication of the Mardi Gras Indians, Passion & Pain honors the tradition's beauty, resilience, and cultural significance. Created from layered natural fibers using wet, Nuno, and needle felting, the portrait is richly embellished with feathers, beads, and hand-stitched details that celebrate the craftsmanship and spirit of New Orleans' Black Masking Indian culture.
